MOVIE SUMMARY:

Location: the "child protection"-division of the Parisian police. The officers there have to arrest child molesters, thieves, violent and raping fathers. They are overwhelmed by the fates they have to face and dissed by officers in other divisions who look down upon them and regard them merely as "social workers." Once they return home from work, they have to face their very own troubles. Based on real life events. In another angle we can say, A journalist covering police assigned to a juvenile division enters an affair with one of her subjects.

Poliss (French: Polisse) is a 2011 French drama film written, directed by and starring Maïwenn. It also stars Joeystarr, Karin Viard, Marina Foïs, Nicolas Duvauchelle and Riccardo Scamarcio. The film centres on the Child Protection Unit in Paris, and a photographer who is assigned to cover the unit. The title is a childish spelling of the word "police".

The film won the Jury Prize at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival and in 2012, was nominated for thirteen César Awards.
